二月是春節，轉眼之間，在這陽台種花也快一年了。去年四月中，母親中風，五月我們搬來這座公寓大廈，我慢慢地把植物從自己租屋處移過來。

這裡是南向陽台，很多以前沒有花訊的植物，接受溫暖的陽光後，都有了好消息。某日，母親提到含笑花（她的名字），我就趁空到假日花市搬了一盆回來。養了大半年（約從五、六月開始），現在終於開出花朵。


#1：含笑花。我心裡默默想著，含笑花是母親的花，得養好才行。或許花開的時候，母親嗅到花的香氣的時候，身體也能復健得差不多。

冬天好像提早結束了，真正冷的日子不多。含笑花在一月結成花苞，一月就是春天的樣子。


#1：竹子的一種，在交大「百竹園」。我也曾種過竹子，一種叫「葫蘆竹」，另一種忘記名字的觀賞竹。竹子很容易藉著地下莖蔓延生長，變成竹林，排擠其他植物的生存空間，所以當初種竹子時，有用水泥圈圍起來。

《樹猶如此》的意念是來自這年的牽狗散步，路線是交大校園的環校道路，學生們總是跑在馬路上，身旁的汽車總是開得太快，沿路的楓香綠著、黃著、終於紅了，紛紛凋落，剩下滿樹的枝條，像骨骼。

Trust me, 47 years in the film business is a long time. You just ask those Golden Globies, because you've been around here forever. You know, Phil, you're a nut, Aida, Scott, thank you for honoring me tonight. It is the most fun party of the year, and tonight, I feel like the prom queen.
